Humanscale Freedom Chair or Herman Miller Aeron, President?
Working from home as a web and graphic designer, and I'm in my office chair about 11 hours a day. I'm going to buy a new chair and I'm looking for something very modern / chic / and as comfortable as possible. I'm considering both the Humanscale chair Liberty or Herman Miller Aeron Chair. Can anyone make a recommendation as to which one of these two is better and why?
Hi Christopher, it is curious that bring this up. In fact, I'm more of a consultant in the New York office Humanscale. We sat in the chairs of freedom in all day at work. Without being part, I will give my expert opinion regarding the two office chairs. In general, there is much confusion about how to evaluate an office chair. It can not be judged on the basis of a few minutes, so we emphasize that people come in, like the last person who answered and then tested in person. If you are in New York or tri-state area I definitely recommend coming to one of our stores. Now, to compare the two: First, the Aeron is primarily an iconic chair. The technology is a little outdated in terms of seats. There are buttons and levers that can be confusing for the user, and not have the same comfort, and the new age image that seems to be looking, as you say you sit in his chair for most of the day. The great advantage of freedom is that it eliminates knobs, levers, and manual adjustments. Most times the user does not adjust properly for two reasons. A: They do not have time to make adjustments and B: I do not know what the settings are for Freedom has 3 settings once custom designed to fit you. There is an auto-reclining mechanism, which means it for the user to recline and sit up straight while moving with the user's body weight. Another beneficial feature is its support arm. As you change tasks, the ideal position to support arm changes dramatically. For example, when the keyboard, your arms should be off the road. When on the phone, armrests should be in a high position. Freedom not only adjust armrest effort to encourage the frequent changes of position, but they do together, synchronously, the that can not be said of any other office chairs competition. After all is said and done, however, I suggest you come and try it in person, and you can see for yourself how you feel each chair, and is aesthetically.
